Cleveland State went to the Carrier Dome tonight for the first time since their NCAA Tournament Run 22 years ago when they beat Indiana and St. Joseph's. For the Vikings that was history, but after tonight, that may be forgotten for sometime. The Vikings went into the Carrier Dome and knocked off the #11 Syracuse Orangemen 72-69 on a last second 75 foot 3 pointer off the hands of Cedrick Jackson. The game was back and forth all night before the Vikings took a 5 point lead with 20 seconds left. Then Syracuse drained a 3, stole an in bounds pass, and made a lay up in 18 seconds to tie the game at 69. Then Cedrick Jackson took the in bounds pass and threw up a 75 foot heave and nailed it off the glass to give CSU the upset.
YSU-KENT
YSU led by 2 at half and as many as 5 in the 2nd half before going on a long shooting drought which gave Kent State a 21 point lead. YSU battled back in the final 8 minutes but the lead was insurmountable as the Golden Flashes defeated the Penguins 82-74.
