Breaking news out of the sports world, baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 2003 when he won the AL MVP with the Texas Rangers. The report came from Sports Illustrated in which sources told SI that Rodriguez was on a list of 104 players who tested positive in 2003 alone. MLB was trying to decide if mandatory random drug tests were needed. In 2003, there were no penalties for testing positive. When reached for comment, all Rodriguez said was, "You'll have to talk to the union."

Rodriguez is one of the biggest superstars currently in Major League Baseball and has accumulated 553 homeruns in his career. Some say he is on the fast track to breaking Hank Aaron's record for most homeruns ever (not Barry Bonds). Now, though, his legacy and Hall of Fame chances are all but ruined.

A-Rod is just another name to the list of the supposed "best players ever" to test positive. Along with Rodriguez: Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmiero and Mark McGuire. Hopefully, these cheaters get what's coming to them and get shut out of the Hall of Fame. They don't deserve it. The arguments that they shouldn't get in because everyone did it in that era is just stupid. Let the cheaters stay out of the Hall of Fame and put people who are clean like Jeff Kent in. Heck, even Pete Rose should get in over Bonds, Clemens and A-Rod. I am not a Yankees fan at all and I am not an A-Rod fan, either, but this is just another devastating blow to the game. Children who look up to A-Rod and adore him will now be heartbroken to know their favorite player is a cheater. How many more great players will test positive? How much more will steroids destroy the game of baseball? Hopefully not much more.
