The Penguins will square off with the Governors of Austin Peay University, a former Ohio Valley Conference foe of the 'guins from the 1980s. All tickets for this game are $5 with plenty of promotions and a Kids Day which has been a big success over the past five seasons. If you can't make it out to the game, you can listen live on the radio on 570WKBN or online at www.570WKBN.com. The game will also be broadcast on MY-YTV at 10pm on Saturday Night.

Last week the Penguins lost to the FBS Pittsburgh Panthers, who were the pre-season #1 in the Big East. At times the Penguins played the Panthers well on the offensive and defensive side of the ball, but at the end of the day the Panthers were bigger, stronger, and faster than the Penguins, which was evident by the 4th quarter.

The Penguins did have two real nice drives in the game, one in the first half, the other in the second half. The first drive lasted 8:27 minutes and consisted of 16 plays for 50 yards. The drive ended in a beautiful 48 yard field goal by Stephen Blose. The second drive was late in the 4th quarter and lasted 8:32 minutes. The drive consisted of 14 plays for 61 yards, but ended on a Brandon Summers pass in the endzone.

The Penguin defense shut down the Pitt running game up the middle, but they exploited a weakness in the Penguin defense on the outside and ran all over the Penguins on the sidelines. Their quarterbacks fared decent against the Penguins, but the Penguins did fairly well shutting down the Pitt passing attack and keeping that in check. YSU had a few nice 3rd down stops and a couple nice stops in the redzones to hold the Panthers to a couple field goals.

This week we have Austin Peay. I don't know much about them other than they won last week against a Division II team by 11 points, 34-23. They ran all over that team, but they also gave up nearly 400 yards passing to that Div. II as well.

I think the Penguins will feed off a big crowd and roll in this contest. I'd like to see the Penguins defense hold AP to single digits, but I will give AP the benefit of the doubt and give them 10.

Prediction:
YSU: 35
AP: 10
Attendance: 16,500 [Nice weather, the game will be done well before the OSU-USC game]

GO PENGUINS! Please attend the game Saturday and cheer on the 'guins!
