The Penguins will look to continue where they left off last week, outscoring Austin Peay 35-7 to end the game, despite trailing 14-3 midway through the 2nd quarter. For the hometown Huskies, they'd simply like to score a few touchdowns. In their two games this year, Northeastern has been outscored by an embarrassing 71-7 mark.

On paper, this is a game the Penguins should be able to win relatively easy, but don't tell the Penguins that. According to the Vegas lines at publish time, YSU is just a 1pt favorite over the winless Huskies. Another thing that should worry the Penguins is they are just 1-3 historically in games played at Parsons Field in Boston. In Thursday's Vindicator YSU Head Coach Jon Heacock said, "It's a tough place to play. Don't ask me why, but we just have trouble every time we go there." The last time the Penguins played there was during the 1992 I-AA National Runner-Up season. The Penguins lost that game 28-23. Parsons Field is no Stambaugh Stadium by the way. The stadium seats just 7,000 people on one side of the stadium and their fan support is not very good. Let me put it to you this way, I played at nicer high school stadiums in my days at Ursuline than this facility.

<strong>Keys to Victory</strong>
The game plan for the Penguins should be pretty simply. YSU succeeded on the ground and through the air last week. Tailbacks Kevin Smith and Jamaine Cook ran for 167 yards on 26 carries. Quarterback Brandon Summers looked great completing 17 of 24 passes for 232 yards and tying the YSU school record with 4 touchdown passes. Six of those seventeen pass completions were brought in by one of the Penguins getting looks at by NFL teams, Donald Jones. The Penguins were able to effectively mix in the run and passing game last week and they will need to do that again if they want to succeed this week. I'd like to see us get 200+ yards on the ground and 150+ through the air.

On defense, look for Sir Demarco Bledsoe and Mychal Savage to have big days against a less than stellar Husky offense. Although the Huskies will be hungry for some points and may pull out some tricks, they will struggle once again to move the ball on this Penguin defense for most of the day. As of publish time, the Northeastern QB is still injured and not likely to play according to reports online.

<strong>Prediction</strong>
Although I am confident we will win, I still think the Huskies are a dangerous opponent. This game is awful reminiscent of last years game at Southern Utah, a game the Penguins should have won, but struggled in the rain with a number of penalties and turnovers. It is also worth mentioning the Huskies are a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, arguably the strongest FCS conference this season with three wins over FBS schools and an undefeated 4-0 mark against non-conference FCS opponents. The Huskies may be 0-2, but they played #20 Maine to the very end last week and gave some scares to some CAA playoff teams last year. This game is no slouch and it will be up to Coach Heacock to have these guys ready for the 1pm kickoff. In the end, the Penguins defense shuts down the Husky offense and our rushing attack leads us to victory in a close one.

YSU: 24
Northeastern: 10
