All I have to say is this: The Democrats have a 79 vote edge in the House and a 18 vote edge in the Senate and yet they still are struggling to pass these health care bills. Could it be possible that the American people hate these bills and would like the US Congress to start from scratch on it, or better yet do the Democrats even care what the American people think?! If they can't pass it with their enormous advantages in the House and Senate, then I have a hard time believing that this is the best approach to health care reform.

As you know, I have stayed away from this health care issue until I knew a vote was imminent, which appears to be present as a vote will be held tomorrow afternoon/evening in the House chambers. As of this evening, the future of ObamaCare rests in the hands of 9 Congressmen. According to tallies across the web, the bill has 211 confirmed yea's and 211 confirmed nay's of of 9:15pm. In order to pass or kill the bill, the yea's or nay's will need 216 votes. All I have to say is this: The Democrats have a 79 vote edge in the House and a 18 vote edge in the Senate and yet they still are struggling to pass these health care bills. This leaves out the fact that they haven't provided a way to payfor this new law of the land.

Will taxes go up? Only if you make $200k a year. If that's the case, you HAVE decent health care. It's in the common good to provide health care for all citizens. It makes moral AND financial sense...
And it CUTS govt spending... Yes...
Every time a poor person goes to the ER for a tummy ache, is costs THE TAXPAYERS money. It's really THAT simple!

Obviously you and I are going to have differing views on this whole thing due to our political affiliations.
ALL politics aside; at this point in time, as someone who is living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to pay for a basic "save your ass" health care policy ANYTHING they can come up with will be better than ignoring the problem, or taking up precious time to re-do it.
Failure to act would be a serious mistake, and while it would be nice to go back to congress and get everyone's opinion and make everyone happy, that's just gonna take too much time! There are other issues that must be tackled (jobs, the deficit, the war, etc.) that we need to just finish up with health care reform and move on.
I certainly don't intend to spark a political debate (I really hate politics actually, I think there's a lot of wasted time in it all), but I'm a real person, and this will directly impact my life.
Keep on writing!!
