Late last week the Obama campaign announced to some donors and supporters that they can win the White House without necessarily winning the previous two election battleground states of Ohio and Florida. When I heard this I was wondering what on earth Barack Obama and his team was thinking. Up to now they have run a pretty good campaign considering the controversies of the past few months, but this is a very bad move.

Ohio will once again be the pivotal state of the upcoming election and it is a state that Barack Obama must fight to win. This is Hillary country and where many of those 'working class white voters' call home. Many Hillary supporters, as seen to the left, are throwing their support behind John McCain which may very well hurt Barack Obama's chances in the Buckeye State.

Now back to his strategy; I personally believe he is naive to overlook Ohio. I think McCain will win Florida pretty easily this time around, but Ohio is 20 electoral votes that could swing John McCain into the White House. I am well aware Obama could take Virginia and Colorado from the Republicans this time around along with Iowa, but McCain could easily come right back and take Michigan and New Hampshire, which eliminates any shot for Obama to carry all of Kerry's 2004 states.

Barack Obama, here is some advice, don't risk losing this election not trying hard in Ohio. I believe every Republican that has won Ohio has won the White House, are you going to truly defy that much logic?
