( 2 Votes ) After Tim Ryan decided to cancel his health care speech with the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative due to "security concerns" yesterday, many of his constituents in the 17th District are beginning to wonder the real reason why Tim Ryan cancelled his speech. The Warren Tribune Chronicle has an online web poll out today asking, "Do you think U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan was justified in cancelling a local health care talk due to safety concerns?" As of 3pm, 64% of those who have voted say he was NOT justified for cancelling his remarks due to "security concerns."

Due to his decision to cancel, we the people of the 17th District have a responsibility to demand answers from Tim Ryan. I strongly urge you to call Congressmen Ryan's Youngstown office at 330-740-0193 or by email him here demanding him to provide the real reason why he cancelled his speech.

Until Congressmen Ryan is willing to take the heat for his "YEA" vote on ObamaCare, we should expect nothing less from the Congressmen. He knows darn well the people of the 17th District did not support this bill, yet he went against the wishes of his constituents and support this garbage piece of legislation. If and when this speech is rescheduled for next week, we must come together and protest Tim Ryan for supporting this bill. These protesters are not violent and are not there to endanger the Congressmen, they are there demanding answers. Tim Ryan needs to toughen up and be willing to take the heat from his constituents due to his vote.

What say you? (Picture is courtesy the Youngstown Business-Journal).

I know a lot of people who supported this bill, but there not the ones screaming at the top of their lungs everyday. In the eyes of many liberals, "W" never took the heat for Iraq.

They voted in Tim Ryan, they therefore, in theory, supported this bill. Instead of bitching about this bill the GOP should have come up with something of their own.

Also, how do you know if he is lying? There could have been a security problem, you really don't know.

Go ahead and call him though, it is your right. I just don't see it doing any good since the bill has been voted on and it kinda seems like you are in the minority on this one.

P.S. Stop saying "What say you?" It is so grammatically wrong that I get angry just looking at it.

Second P.S., it is 2:12 A and your site says there is 42 people online. I am calling bs.

Tim Ryan is a coward,he did not have the courage to have a open discussion with the area voters. The Republicans were left out of the HC process til the very end ,just to make it look good for the Democrats, and the bill took a year because of all the FIGHTS within, the Democratic party. The "Lot of people support the bill" is 64% against this bill,36% for it,check the polls!Timmy Ryan sponsored/co-sponsored pork to the tune of 1.232 million dollars for Youngstown/Warren and 4.134 MILLION for Akron,Ravenna,Cleveland,Columbus, and Bowling Green, he really is good for this area.

You are crying because he only got 1.2 mil? Wow.

Hey Smith...How stupid are you? More money for OTHER CITIES, than the area he professes he is helping?
  • Smith6714
Hey dumbass, those cities have more people. More people means more money. Quit crying.

smith...if there were not the word "Jackass" there would not be a word to describe you and your thought process.

Youngstown-14.7% unemployment - Akron 6.7% Hey "Dumbass" who needs more
  • rudy56
    Revise Akron 9.7%

This was as of the 2000 census. Akron 217,074 people *.097= 21,056. Youngstown 82,026 people *.147= 12,057. A shade less than 9,000 people. I bet it is more since Youngstown has been declining a lot more than Akron. More People, More Money. Oh yeah, that feeling you are having is called getting owned.
  • Smith6714  - Sorry
Just saw this, Youngstown was at an estimated 68592 people around 2006. That equals 10,083 people. So in actuality it is closer to 11,000 more unemployed in Akron.
