This is a first for MVRed.com. We have an interview for author and politics lover Sam Moffie. Mr. Moffie grew up around here in Youngstown and knows this area very well. Mr. Moffie has two books out that you can find on amazon.com. This is an interview with Mr. Moffie, who is also a Republican.

MVRed: What are some of the things we can do in this area to get more Republicans in office?

Sam Moffie: Change the leadership of the current local GOP. They have failed miserably when the GOP had total control at the state and the national scenes. Even with all the local corruption, Smith and his cabal failed to take advantage of the political climate. Smith's endorsements of all taxes (especially the sales tax) was a ringing endorsement for the democrats. He never held the democrats accountable.

MVRed: Why do you think the Democrats haven't been a good fit for this Valley?

Sam Moffie: They were a good fit for the valley when there were jobs galore. Times changed, but the attitude of the local democrats hasn't. Instead of private industy supplying jobs, the democrats look at government as their job pipeline.

MVRed: How can we get more young people involved in politics?

Sam Moffie: Looks like Obama has accomplished that. Young people want change, even if it is nothing but idle talk. Imagine if young people saw real change!

MVRed: Should Marc Dann resign or be impeached?

Same Moffie: I would rather he be recalled. That would be the ultimate slap in the face for Mr. Arrogant Marc Dann.

MVRed: Do you support McCain?

Sam Moffie: Support McCain and have contributed $'s to his campaign.

MVRed: What do you agree with and disagree with McCain about? What issues?

Sam Moffie: I support McCain on the war on terror and ending pork spending as primary goals. I am happy that the religious right hasn't hijacked his agenda. His gas holiday is a stupid idea. It won't mean diddlysquat in real help for people.

MVRed: What do you think of the job President Bush has done?

Sam Moffie: Bush was doing a b- job until he put democracy on the fast track for Iraq. America should be running the government via the military just like after the Civil War and WWII. The Iraqi people were given democracy too soon. Now, I give Bush a d+.

MVRed: If you had to vote for one of the Democrats, Clinton or Obama, which one would you vote for and why?

Sam Moffie: Clinton over Obama. Obama is the Manchurian Candidate.

MVred: How else could myself and ytown get involved in the local Republican community?

Sam Moffie: Just what your doing. Stay away from the established people and party. They just want to keep the status quo humming along. If you think they are doing well, just take a drive around Mahoning County. Smith and his cabal have contributed to the downfall of this area, not built it up.

MVRed: Tell us what your book was about.

Sam Moffie: My second book is called The Organ Grinder and the Monkey. Go to amazon.com and look up the title or my name for more information on the book.

We would like to thank Mr. Moffie for his time and hope he will come back to the site often.
