Whether you support the war or are strongly against it, I’d like to ask you a simple question; is the surge in Iraq working? Here’s some things to consider:

1. The Liberal News media has begun to pull out reporters from Iraq and has stopped the ‘Top Story’ segments which featured the horrific violence in Iraq which plagued our television screens from 2003-2007. I wonder who they are in the tank for this election year?

2. Just last week Iraq announced that they have met 15 of their 18 benchmarks for their Government. Of course NBC, CBS, and ABC made no mention of this great news, and the AP said this of the Iraqi government, “the most frustrating realities in Iraq: the slow pace with which the government in Baghdad operates.” Further proves my case for #1.

3. Since the surge that President Bush ordered in Februrary 2007, with much pressure from John McCain for some four years, the Pentagon reports violence is down in some areas as much as 89% [IED's]. Also, the presence of Al Queda in Iraq is diminishing too as their attacks are down 70% since the 2007 surge.

4. Finally here’s a chart of the number of deaths in Iraq from 2007-2008. As you can clearly see the direction is heading South. We were averaging 3-4 soldiers dying per day, and right now it is a little less than 1 per day.

Folks whether you agree with the war or not, you must admit to the fact that the surge is working. John McCain had called for this surge back in the summer of 2003. I would be the first Bush supporter to admit he handled this war dismally and that is why it is so unpopular today, but we must give credit where credit is due. John McCain’s surge along with the great work of General Petraeus and our brave men and women are the reason we are seeing success in Iraq.

One last fact before I end this: McCain was the pioneer of the surge. Barack Obama was staunchly against it.

Surrender is not an option….

Yes, this president has allowed himself to be manipulated by his enemies at home. The president’s lack of resolve at home interfered greatly with the military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I blame him for that error 100%.

Of the two “wars” currently in progress, the one the lefty/liberals/Marxist/democrats are staging within our borders is against our nation by far the more dangerous and deadly, especially for our troops.

FDR would have most of the democrat party in prison camps by now and the New York Times under armed guards, and rightfully so. Say what we will about FDR, but that guy knew how to deal with his enemies, both real and imaginary.

BAGHDAD (AP)- Iraq’s prime minister said Monday his country wants some type of timetable for a withdrawal of American troops included in the deal the two countries are negotiating.

It was the first time that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has explicitly and publicly called for a withdrawal timetable — an idea opposed by President Bush.

    ***********

Now, this is good news. On Dec 31 the UN resolution expires and the US can only stay incountry if Iraq’s governmnet says they want us there, which they clearly do not…

The flip side of this statement is the fact that the Iraqi Government is actually functioning and CAN function independently, which the liberal media and liberals continue to tell Americans as not being true…

Each day we move closer to victory in Iraq…. al-Maliki will of course want our troops there until the Government is running all the provinces and until the Iraqi Security forces are trained fully by the US Military.

    The situation is IMPROVING!

The situation IS improving after 5+ years, but the Suni/Shia thing can reignite at any time, and it SURELY will…

My problem lies in the fact that our military are NOT police or social workers. Their job is to kill people and break sh*t. Period.

There is NO withdrawl plan that will ‘work’ for Iraq. So what do we do, stay there forever?

The average Iraqi feels he or she lives in a country occupied by a ‘Christian’ nation. We are not WINNING anything. We ‘WON’ years ago. We are an occupation force and will always been seen that way.

Do I want a pull out tomorrow? NO. But we MUST develop a phased withdrawal that supports the Iraqi gov’t developing more control. We need to come to an agreement both sides can live with. ..

Now Bush wants to give no bid contracts to US oil companies. Meanwhile, the Iraqis have NOT developed their own oil policy. But it wad just fine for Hunt Oil to make a backdoor deal with the Kurds that was approved by the administration (ours, not theirs). And then Ray Hunt donates $35 million to the Bush library. That’s cozy…

Ray Hunt is an alumni of SMU. He has a long history of supporting the university. He is one of the university scholars and has donated millions and millions of dollars to projects and scholarships. The Bush library will be a great asset to SMU, so of course Ray Hunt is on board.

It isn’t “cozy”. It’s predictable. There isn’t always a boogyman in the closet.

If you wanna see cozy, check out how the Clinton Library and Adult Book Store has been financed. You’ll get all warm and fuzzy! I think the video arcade has glory holes that point towards Mecca.

Wow! You can be quite the humorist. What is the facination with Clinton’s penis? Lots of conservatives seem to be obsessed with it.

Or are you just Buying Thyme?

“The Bush library will be a great asset to SMU”

Why can’t they just put the coloring book in their main library?

You libtards were hoping and PRAYING that we would have more bad news.

Bad news for America is good news for the left.

More deaths! WHOOPPEE! High gas Proces!! HUURRAYY!!! Unemployment - YEEEHAAA!

Just look at your press’ headlines and your web sites for proof.

Now that things are going as predicted by President Bush, you are trying DESPERATELY to backpedal and find something else wrong.

Go to France you traitors. There you can root all you want against America. Oh wait, they abandoned your anti-American hate. Hmm, the only place good for you is Hell.

Congressional testimony by generals in April, an April press release by Republican Senator Richard Lugar and statements by former secretary of state Colin Powell on Good Morning America in April all agreed on one premise: The U.S. military is stretched beyond its limits and cannot sustain current troop levels in Iraq indefinitely. The Sons of Iraq is a Sunni group that has fought al-Qaeda (fellow Sunnis) in Iraq. Groups like the Sons of Iraq are paid by the U.S. military. When the money stops, there is no guarantee the cooperation will continue. And as the GAO report points out, these groups have not reconciled with the Iraqi government, which is a recipe for future problems. As for the the Mahdi Army, its leader, Iraqi Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, said two weeks ago that he is setting up a fighting force specifically designed to fight Americans in Iraq, after making clear in April that he is not interested if fighting Iraqis but did want to fight U.S. troops. So the cease fire is, at best, to quote the report, “tenuous.”

With all three elements affecting a drop in violence in Iraq being so precarious, it stands to reason that the drop in violence is also fragile, something both the GAO and the Defense department acknowledge. And the GAO report cites findings from the United Nations that violence in Iraq could “rapidly escalate.”

Finally, the report notes that while violence is down from past levels, it is still high enough to keep a significant number of Iraqis displaced from their homes and to stymie rebuilding efforts in the country.

That, to me, sounds a lot more complicated than the simple campaign rhetoric of “the surge is working.”

But the only thing the GOP base can understand is a sentence that will fit on a bumper sticker.

Richard Lugar is a communist-leaning idiot who doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. He is not an expert on anything. Colin Powell is hardly a serious commentator. His moonbat credentials slipped out along time ago.

You need to pick better heroes.

A simple phrase like “the surge is working” has too much truth in it for people like you and your ilk who have a vested interest in bringing down the USA.

The GOP base, the normal people, laugh at you purposefully clueless leftist “elitists” who want to fool as many people as possible into believing the lie that somehow that base is so ignorant it can hardly function.

Thankfully, the lie is wasted on the intelligent and is actually effective only with the lowlife mindless scum that is going to vote for democrats anyway.

    Richard Lugar is a commie?

Colin Powell is a moonbat? I think he’s one guy who actually WON a war with Iraq!

I have a vested interest in bringing down the USA?

Why on Earth would you say that? You seem to assume ANYONE who is not in lock-step with your opinions is AGAINST America. You think you own the flag.

You reich-wingers think anyone that doesn’t agree with you is the enemy. That is a very paranoid world view.

What is your military record? I’ve served this Nation, what’s your record?

    And, again:

WHAT DO YOU DO TO SUPPORT THE TROOPS?

Other than post paranoid rants on some little blog?

And, I really find it funny that all you god-freakin’ whackos worship Jesus. Jesus was a liberal Jew!!!
